When I began my internship with the Chamber, one of my first projects was to redesign the monthly newsletter, The Chamber Connection.  The newsletter, which hadn't had a makeover in a number of years, featured limited content, no color, and a dated design.  I developed the "Making Odessa the Place to Be!" brand and redesigned the newsletter with a look that I would apply to other new & updated materials, including brochures and the membership directory.  I also instituted new columns and features to increase newsletter content.

While the primary purpose of the redesign was to improve the design & content, I also made the newsletter available through the Chamber website and by e-mail as a PDF - a first for the organization, which helped save time, paper, and printing costs.  Finally, I implemented sponsored features that not only helped members gain exposure, but helped the Chamber offset the cost of printing the newsletter each month.  These features (newsletter sponsorship and full page inserts) are explained in detail on page four of the PDF above.
